Who we
work with

Find out more about our partnerships with schools to help support their students development and our criteria for selection.

We work with partner schools to raise children’s aspirations through developing personal and behavioral skills in the wild outdoors. We connect children to nature.

Our work is based on repeated visits and we ask schools to select children who will benefit the most from our intervention. We work with schools who are committed to supporting their children through a series of visits both at Ufton and in school.

We ask schools to nominate an Ufton Champion in school who will liaise with Ufton and work to bring principles of outdoor learning into schools. We also ask that at least 3 school staff accompany children on all visits and one of these staff is capable of leading the group and comes on most if not all of the trips. This gives them a deep insight into how our programmes work and how individual children are developing and helps to inform other interventions which may be happening in school.

We ask partner schools to help children with their personal action plans in school and to be fully committed to extensive evaluation and monitoring of impact.

Our partner schools are committed to our relationship from the Governors and Head Teacher onwards. We offer a collaboration which results in step changes in achievement for children as they better engage with learning, become more able to manage their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and find new connections with nature.
