Step into the world of Ancient Greece on a KS2 trip like no other

Our historical narrative supports Ancient Greece KS2 learning, and will allow your children to experience Greek life and culture and explore new regions and city states. Your children will experience drama and fun in the activities that they do with us, all of which promote historical understanding, teamwork and problem solving.

The Itinerary and Risk Assessment

After an introductory talk that sets the scene, students will spend the day living and working like priests and priestesses. Our Ancient Greece trip programme will see your group travel through Ancient Greece discovering the culture and lifestyles that make each state unique. Taking part in typical Greek activities such as arts, warfare and sports, your children will get be immersed in a range of Greek life experiences learning ancient Greek school facts first-hand.

Battle of Thermopylae

Prepare for one of the greatest battles in Greek history — the Battle of Thermopylae!

Led by King Leonidas and his 300 warriors, you’ll take your place on the front lines, defending your city-state against the invading Persian army.

Crime and Punishment

In Ancient Greece, the goddess Themis upheld justice, ensuring that the laws of the city-state were followed. Today, you’ll take on the role of jurors in a trial, deciding the fate of individuals who have broken the law.

Greek Games

After completing your quest, it’s time to have some fun! Dionysus, the god of wine and celebration, encourages you to take part in a variety of ancient Greek games. From running races to ball games, you’ll experience the playful side of Greek culture.

Olympic Games

 

It’s time to compete in the Greek Olympic Games!

Under the watchful eyes of Zeus, the god of the gods, you’ll show your strength, speed, and skill in a series of athletic competitions.

Spartan Military Manoeuvres

 

In the fierce city-state of Sparta, warriors were trained from a young age to defend their homeland. Now, you’ll take part in Spartan military drills and manoeuvres. 

The Agora Trading Game

 

Step into the heart of ancient Greece’s economy, the Agora! You’ll work as traders to buy and sell goods to build your city-state’s wealth and prosperity. With Hermes watching over your trade, you’ll need to make wise decisions and negotiate to succeed.

Festival of Dionysus

 

Welcome to the Festival of Dionysus in Athens! This grand festival celebrates Greek theatre, dance, and entertainment in honor of the god Dionysus.

You’ll take part in the festival competition, performing in a play or dance inspired by Greek myths.

 

 

Fire Lighting

 

Can you start your own fire, just like the ancient Greeks did?
Learn the methods used to become like Prometheus and bring fire to the people! If you succeed, you’ll be one step closer to earning the gods' favour.

Myths and Legends

 

The gods and heroes of ancient Greece love to tell stories of their great adventures. As you go on your quest, you’ll follow a trail, stopping at stations to hear tales of the gods. You’ll answer riddles, play games, and complete challenges that celebrate famous Greek myths.

Archery

Take aim and honour the gods of archery! Artemis and her brother Apollo will be watching as you practice your archery skills. Will you master the bow and arrow, becoming a skilled archer ready to defend your city-state or compete in the Olympic Games?
