Overview
Cabins to Campfire is our woodland residential where children truly connect with nature. Children stay in our cosy woodland cabins, discover outdoor skills, and gather around a crackling campfire as the day winds down. From fire lighting and shelter building to wild art and camouflage games in our ancient woodland, every session is hands-on, engaging and full of those moments children talk about long after they get home.
With space for up to 38 children, Cabins to Campfire works brilliantly as a whole-class residential and with 1 and 2 night options, it fits neatly into your school calendar too.
Accommodation is in our woodland cabins with full facilities. Meals are catered by the Ufton kitchen. All activities are led by our Ufton Outdoors team.
Activity Options
Working in small teams, pupils design and build their own woodland shelters and raised bed using tarps and ropes. The activity encourages collaboration, problem-solving and creative thinking as ideas are tested, adapted and improved.
Activities available for 2 night residentials only:

A team challenge with a survival twist, set deep in the woodland. Groups must work together, think on their feet and use everything they've learned to complete their mission. The perfect way to end a day in the woods.
2. Bushcraft Survivors

Overview
Bushcraft Survivors takes children back to basics. Sleeping communally in our unique Longhouse, a treehouse-style woodland building set in ancient woodland, they spend two days discovering real bushcraft skills, from fire lighting and tool work to cooking over an open flame. Every session is led by our experienced Ufton Outdoors team.
It's an immersive, memorable experience that builds resilience, confidence and teamwork in a way that stays with children long after they get home. A brilliant challenge for groups who want something a little different.
The Longhouse has no shower facilities. Running water and an eco-toilet are available. Teachers sleep on-site in the Longhouse with the children. Available March to end of September only.

Activity Options
Pupils build a campfire from scratch and cook their own lunch over it — pizza wraps prepared and made by the children themselves. Confidence, responsibility and a proper appetite included.
Bushcraft Day Visit

Overview
No overnight stay needed. Our Bushcraft Day Visit brings the magic of the woodland into a single action-packed day. Children try their hand at three classic outdoor skills, guided by our Ufton Outdoors team.
Activity Options
Pupils light and manage a fire before cooking a snack over the flame. A satisfying, confidence-building introduction to outdoor cooking.
