The Itinerary and Risk Assessment

After an introductory talk that sets the scene, students will spend the day living and working like Romans.

Join the ranks of the Roman army and learn to fight for the empire. Practice your formations, defend your comrades, and prove your courage on the training ground.

Boudicca's Revolt

The year is AD 60, and rebellion is in the air! Take part in a thrilling re-enactment of one of history’s most famous uprisings.

Artefacts

Step into the Roman marketplace and uncover treasures from the past. Discover how artefacts were made and used, and see if you can guess what they're worth.

Fire Lighting

Try your hand at making a fire using traditional Roman techniques. This skill is essential for any Roman soldier, will you rise to the challenge or freeze in the cold?

Life On The Farm

 

Get stuck in with tasks like grinding grain to make bread, weaving fences, and tending to the animals.

Medicus Medicine Garden

 

 

Gather herbs, create remedies, and show that you've got what it takes to care for the sick.

Archery

Learn to use a bow and arrow just like a Roman auxiliary soldier. Can you hit the target and prove yourself ready to join the ranks of the Roman army?

Roman Games

Take a break with the Romans and try your hand at their favorite games, from clever board games to skill-based challenges.

Roman Skills

Try your hand at spinning wool, building fences, or mastering the art of fire-making for the busy kitchens.
